About Me!

Kaiden Hancock is a director and cinematographer of documentary film, often dabbling in producing as well. Originally from a small town in Central Florida, Kaiden’s connection to the environment and wilderness is a long-standing and evolving relationship. Applying that passion and care for the natural world into a medium for storytelling, Kaiden found her footing in documentary film.

Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Media Arts from The University of Tampa and currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University, education has alway been central to Kaiden’s life, and it is her goal to create educational pieces to share with wide audiences that take a less conventional route of creation. Relying on observational and cinema vérité tactics as well as more experimental approaches, her work moves beyond that of a traditional documentary. Her films often watch the subjects, and allow life to happen both in front of and beyond the lens.

Beyond her own work, her long term goals reside in wildlife cinematography and anything that allows her to be outside with any sort of camera, whether that’s digital or her grandfather’s 35mm camera that rarely leaves her side.
